Votive Mass

The Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ

Entrance Antiphon (Cf. Rev 5: 9-10)
You have redeemed us, Lord, by your Blood,
from every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
and have made us into a kingdom for our God.

Collect
O God, who by the Precious Blood of your Only Begotten Son
have redeemed the whole world,
preserve in us the work of your mercy,
so that, ever honoring the mystery of our salvation,
we may merit to obtain its fruits.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.

Prayers Over the Offerings
As we offer our oblation to your majesty, O Lord,
may we draw near in these mysteries
to Jesus, the Mediator of the New Covenant,
and celebrate anew the sprinkling of his Blood,
in which lies all our salvation.
Through Christ our Lord.

Preface I of the Passion of the Lord.

Communion Antiphon (Cf. 1 Cor 10: 16)
The chalice of blessing that we bless
is a communion in the Blood of Christ,
and the bread that we break
is a sharing in the Body of the Lord.

Prayer after Communion
Refreshed, O Lord, by this saving food and drink,
we pray that we may always be bathed
in the Blood of our Savior,
so that it may become for us
a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
Through Christ our Lord.
